Working efficiently and effectively at the Science-Policy-Society interface in Veli Lošinj, Croatia from 17-20 June 2018

The IMBeR Network of IMBeR Early Career Scientists (NIECS), in conjunction with the European EKLIPSE project, is convening a workshop for Europe-based Early Career Researchers (less than seven years post PhD)

Topics to be covered include :

- The role of science in natural resources governance
- How to produce usable marine science
- Improving knowledge exchange between scientists and policy-makers
- Career pathways to have impact at the science-policy-society interface

There will also be practical sessions on techniques to interact effectively with different stakeholders. For example :

- How to write a policy brief
- How to develop a Research Impact Plan
- Simulated science-policy discussions with an invited policy-maker

Because of the practical nature of the course, only 25 participants will be accepted. To be considered for one of the places, complete and submit the application form and a short CV by 5 March 2018.

Some travel support is available. Information about how to apply for funding will be provided to successful applicants.
